Shiro Abhyanga

Shiro Abhyanga is a Sanskrit term consisting of two words: “Shiro” translates as “head” and “Abhyanga” means “massage”. Shiro Abhyanga essentially means a full head, neck and shoulder massage using Ayurvedic herbal oils. These are the areas that suffer the most from stress.
This massage is recommended by Ayurveda doctors as a regular anti-stress procedure, as it cools the head, relieves mental fatigue, headaches and brings a feeling of physical peace and mental balance.
According to Indian healers, there are certain “vital points” on the human body – marmas, which are connected to internal organs and parts of the body. The head contains the most marma points (37 out of 107). This shows how important the head and neck region is for our physiological functioning.
Massage using Ayurvedic oil helps improve the activity of brain centers, which are responsible not only for mental abilities and memory, but also for the ability to experience pleasant emotions. With shiro abhynga some serious conditions like eye strain and tinnitus get relieved. As a result of this massage, a high level of sensitivity and concentration is ensured, and feelings of fear and anxiety disappear. Shiro Abhyanga is used to prevent and treat hair loss, improve the mobility of the cervical vertebrae and normalize blood pressure.
