Consultation with an Ayurveda doctor

The Ayurveda doctor conducts a survey, examination and pulse diagnosis. The doctor determines the type of your body constitution according to the principles of Ayurveda, makes a diagnosis and prescribes treatment. Treatment includes recommendations on nutrition, lifestyle, a course of Ayurvedic medications, and Ayurvedic procedures. Yoga therapy and meditation sessions may also be recommended, which will restore not only the physical, but also the emotional and mental state.
Initial consultation

A consultation with our Ayurveda doctor is a great opportunity to receive recommendations on lifestyle, ways to maintain good health and solve problems that concern you. You can make an appointment at a convenient date and time by calling the reception desk of the Atreya Ayurveda.

Ayurveda believe in factors like desha (geographical importance), kaala (season) and bala (immunity) play a vital role in the pathogenesis of the disease. For suggesting treatments also this knowledge is essential. Ayurveda explains the three mode of consultation as the basic diagnostic tools i.e Darshana (inspection), Sparshana (touching) and Prashna (interrogation). Various techniques of these three modes are used in the modern clinical consultation.
In Atreya Ayurveda, the duration of the consultation is from 1 to 1.5 hours for an adult and 1 hour for a child.
What you need to prepare before the consultation:

  1. Explain to doctor about all the symptoms that bother you, including those that may seem unrelated to the reason for your visit to the doctor.
  2. Mention key personal information, including any major stressors or recent life changes.
  3. Make a list of all medications, including vitamins and dietary supplements that you take.
  4. Write down questions you want to ask your doctor. Your time with your doctor is limited, so preparing a list of questions will help you make the most of this time. Organize your questions from most important to least important.
  5. Write down your usual eating pattern and how your body reacts to it.
  6. Write down the main diseases that you have/had. Bring with you all available medical documents related to your illness.
  7. In order to have time to ask questions after the consultation, you should prepare for it in advance.
    The doctor may ask you:
    • When did you first feel these symptoms?
    • Have you had similar symptoms before?
    • Are these symptoms long-term or temporary?
    • How severe are your symptoms?
    • What helps reduce symptoms?
    • What aggravates symptoms?
    • What is the health status of your parents?
    • Are you experiencing serious emotional problems or stress at home/work?

Repeated consultation
Repeated consultation is carried out after completing the course of treatment. All data about your prakriti (innate constitution), vikriti (imbalance of the doshas), and the history of your illnesses are included in the medical record.
At a follow-up consultation, your doctor will be able to adjust your treatment and make new appointments, if necessary.
